Services We Offer

The Newport Cottage Care Centre is more than just a Day Centre.

We have various services and stimulating social activities that our clients can take part in, which will keep their minds and bodies ‘active’. Below are just some of the activities and services provided to our Day Care clients.

Activities

Popular activities taking place include, arts and crafts, painting, flower arranging, bingo, poetry, reminiscence therapy and exercises. Our exercise classes held at least twice monthly always prove very popular.

We have a select group of entertainers that come to the Centre to put on a varied range of entertainment for our clients and visitors. These include individual singers doing ‘sing a longs’, key board and piano players, groups or small choirs and duo’s. All provide an excellent choice of musical talents, which are thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

We also hold a monthly church service.

Mini Buses

Clients who live within a 5 mile radius can be picked up and taken home in one of our two mini buses which have access for wheelchair and disabled clients.

Our mini buses are also used to transport our clients on our organised trips to places of interest.

Assisted Bathing

The Care Centre has a specially equipped bathroom with a hoist facility should our clients wish to make use of our assisted bathing.

Meals

The Care Centre is proud of the fact that we hold the GOLD standard of the Healthy Eating Scheme, which is an award given to organisations who attain a certain standard of promoting healthy eating and awareness. Our cook Jill provides our award winning 3 course meals and we can cater for any special individual diets.
